Application Deadline for schools is January 30, 2020

Teachers!

The next deadline to apply for PAINTS Projects for your students is coming up quickly.  - January 30, 2020.

PAINTS helps schools in Nova Scotia bring together professional visual artists, educators and students. We provide support for schools throughout the province to bring professional artists into their classrooms to lead workshops, give artists talks and make art with students.
Our roster includes the more than 65 artists all over the province working in different media in and in different ways.

The PAINTS program is pretty straight forward. Projects range from 3 to 12 hours and can be with students from grade Primary to 12. We try to keep the logistics and paperwork to a minimum and keep the focus on the hands-on time working in classrooms with the students.

The program provides half of the hourly wage for the artist and the school pays the other half, making up the total $50/hour rate. And we also support some materials, and the artist’s mileage expenses. That means for $75 you could have an artist work with a group of students in an art process for 3 hours.
The next deadline for schools to apply is Thursday January 30, 2020.

If you’re a teacher and you’d like to put an application but you’re not sure where to start, just let us know. We’re here to help.
