Workshops and Activities
I am interested in doing a PAINTS project with students (preferably from 13-18 yo) to create a graphic novel collaboration. I would encourage each participant to illustrate 2-6 pages of sequential art, comic or illustrated story over the course of several weeks. During this time I will share my work and the work of other graphic storytellers in an educational journey through the history of comics, with lots of fun examples of comic strips, graphic novels and different styles from Manga, Superhero, and Indie Comics. I will provide guidance and encouragement for each participant as well as editing suggestions and advice on how to make the most effective use of the media at their disposal. At the end of the course, they could choose to share their work with each other online or I could print off zines of everyone’s for each participant to keep. (Yet to be decided according to budget and printing costs)
