Workshops and Activities
I would be happy to work with teachers and I would be open to any ideas to help develop an art workshop specifically designed to meet curriculum needs and to help decide what key point or theme would best reflect class interests and learning. Each project is specifically planned/designed keeping the age and abilities of the students in mind so they can complete a project/workshop with success. At the teacher's discretion the students could also be involved in preparation/discussion of the artwork to be created. I believe the students should have a fun, positive and educational art experience. Most projects are an "artist led" experience in that I will lead the students through a painting "step by step" thus encouraging confidence through direction but also allowing the freedom to be creative so each student's art piece is unique and individual(their own style would shine through). A celebration of artwork completed would include a group art show in the class room or hallway and a reception (students could help design invitations) with family and friends. It is so rewarding to lead artists of all ages through a successful art experience, and most are amazed at what they can do .I look forward to practicing my teaching skills as well as showing everyone the joy in painting and that everyone can be creative!.
