Mahone Bay
I am an artist, teacher and mother. I have worked as a professional artist and as a classroom teacher. I am presently a clay artist, making both functional and sculptural work that encourages a sense of humour. I apply for grants, sell through galleries and show my work. I hold my own 'Playing with Clay' workshops for adults and children throughout the year. I am an avid gardener and love being outdoors. I live with my husband, Eric and daughter, Juniper Jane; our family is completed with our two cats, Turtle and Bear Bear.
Workshops and Activities
For PAINTS projects, I have worked with students to create a variety of things. The projects vary in length and can have different levels of complexity. The same project can be applied to the level of a group of primary students and grade 12 students, changing the expectations and amount of detail. Primarily I am a clay artist. Students have created cups, bowls, plates, dragons, wall hangings, self portraits, abstract sculptures and more, all out of clay. I am also happy to work in other mediums for art projects. I am able to make connections to the curriculum and integergrate to classroom subjects easily.
